Privacy notice

Last updated: 1 October 2026

In short: weysail doesn't send your marks, settings or location to us. They stay on your phone. The only data that leaves your phone is what Google Play and our payments provider need if you buy :racepro. We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking.

Who we are

weysail is made by Everthere Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 04546865) at [registered office address]. We're the data controller for the personal data described here, and we're registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under number ZA935330.

Contact us about privacy at support@weysail.com.

What the app handles, and where it's kept

Data Where it's kept Why
Your marks: names, notes and positions On your phone only. We never receive them. So you can navigate to them.
Your location, from the phone's GPS or an external GPS over TCP/IP Used on your phone while the app is open. It isn't stored as a history and isn't sent to us. To work out bearing, distance and VMG, and to set a mark's position when you tap locate.
App settings, such as theme, coordinate format and GPS address On your phone only. To remember your preferences.
Files you import or share (GPX, KML, CSV) Read from, or sent to, the place you choose using Android's file picker and share sheet. To move marks in and out of the app. We don't see these files.
Purchase and subscription records Google Play, and RevenueCat (our subscription provider). To take payment and check that your :racepro subscription is active.

Android asks your permission before the app can use your location. You can withdraw that permission at any time in your phone's settings. The app can't navigate without it.

Purchases

If you subscribe to :racepro, Google Play takes the payment under Google's privacy policy. We never see your card details. The app uses RevenueCat to check your subscription. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase receipts, and basic device information such as platform, app version and country. RevenueCat acts as our processor. Our lawful basis is that the processing is needed to provide the subscription you bought (contract).

Google and RevenueCat may process data in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

Accounts and cloud sync in the future

weysail doesn't have user accounts today. If we add optional accounts later, for example to back up or sync marks between devices, we'll update this notice and tell you in the app before anything changes. We'll also ask for your agreement before collecting any new data. An account would probably hold your email address and a copy of your marks. You'd be able to delete the account and everything in it yourself, and our data deletion page would explain how.

This website

weysail.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics. It loads nothing from other companies' servers, and the fonts are hosted here. Our hosting provider, [hosting provider], keeps short-lived server logs containing IP addresses and browser details. These help keep the site secure, which is our legitimate interest. They're deleted automatically after [30] days.

How long we keep data

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or send it to someone else. Email support@weysail.com and we'll reply within one month. Because we hold so little, most requests can be met on your phone, or through our data deletion steps.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Children

weysail isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app.
